Using volumetric capture and WebAR, we created the first ever AR artwork on Spotify. Play Diamonds and scan the cover art to interact with a hologram of Sam Smith dancing right on your mobile device.

Our approach

Fans visited the site on their mobile enabling them to scan the Spotify artwork for Diamonds on a second device. This triggered a hologram of Sam that burst through the original artwork and performed on top of their mobile device.

The results

Since launch, the activation has attracted and engaged fans from around the globe. As the first of its kind, the experience has garnered attention from online publishers including Rolling Stone & Musically, as well as earning an FWA award.
